Dive into the tao
DIVE INTO THE TAO
I don’t need a secret I just follow the flow Before there was a name There was nowhere to go
No throne in the heavens No king in the sky The river keeps moving And I don’t ask why
Dive into the Tao Where the nameless waters grow Let the ten thousand things arise Let them pass before your eyes
I tried to hold the mountain I tried to hold the sea But the harder that I grasped it The less there was of me
The empty cup is waiting The valley holds the sound What I thought was falling Was returning to the ground
Dive into the Tao Where the hidden currents flow Don’t become what you believe Let it come and let it leave
Yin turns into yang Yang turns into night The wheel doesn’t need me To keep becoming light
The sage walks without conquering Moves without a claim Doesn’t need to name the river To become part of the rain
Dive into the Tao Past the things I think I know No beginning I can see No boundary between you and me
I don’t need to find it I don’t need to understand The Way beneath my footsteps Was already in my hands
So I stop chasing heaven I stop fighting earth And listen to the silence Before the first word
Dive… into the Tao Let the old self go No answer in the distance The Way is where you flow
Wu wei — let it be The Way moves through me Wu wei — let it be And I return to what I cannot name
